Two very large building companies presented to the residents of a peaceful little recreational fishing hamlet on the coast of Western Australia, their plans to build a vibrant city centre with 3,800 houses on either side of their little village. The residents were horrified. Not only would it change their beloved way of life, it would also totally destroy the Ramsar Coastal System of International Significance adjoining the hamlet. A group of villagers met together and pledged to try to stop this horrific development. They were up against two large, wealthy developers and three layers of Government, Federal, State and Local Council, all totally focussed on development and were told they would NEVER be able to stop the development. NEVER say NEVER.
